Stamped Butterfly Card

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and color theme from Just Add Ink. The butterfly stamp set is from Unity's Stamp of the Week "Change is Never Easy." I stamped the image twice and fussy cut one of the butterflies to add a 3D element to the card. The image was water-colored with my Aqua Brush and Ink pads.

Red, White, & Blue Blog Hop with Cardz TV Gallery Designers

Hi, everyone! Today I am part of the Red, White, & Blue Cardz TV Gallery Designers' Blog Hop! If you missed seeing the other Designers' amazing projects, be sure to start at the beginning at Mary's Cardz TV Blog.

I decided to create a 12x12 scrapbook layout for my Red, White, and Blue project. Take a looksee!

I LOVE how it turned out!

Cut files used:
  • Sil ID# 67429 - Background - I used the Tutorial on the Silhouette America site for filling in an intricate shape
  • Sil ID# 44051 - The Lake Is Calling (I created a shadow for some of the words that didn't include one in this cut file)
  • Sil ID# 1407 - Tag (I created the shadow for this tag as well using the Silhouette Offset feature.)
Cardz TV Stamps used:
  • It's All Good - No Worries
  • It's a Guy Thing - Solid smaller star image
  • Christmas Joy - Striped larger star image (I stamped off the page first and then stamped this design on the tag to lighten the ink a little)
Photo was taken recently one evening by my husband, Tom, while we were sitting out on the dock looking at the stars. We could see Venus, Jupiter and the Moon among other stars. I love quiet, beautiful moments with my hubby like that.

Rhinestones and ribbons on tag are from Walmart.
Lake, tag, and background all adhered with foam tape for dimension.

What's a blog hop without some blog candy! Mary will be giving 3 NEW Sets of Cardz TV Stamps for her blog candy, so if you're a follower of Cardz TV, just leave a comment on her blog! Mary will use random.org to pick a winner, and will announce the WINNER on Monday!

Below is a list of all the stops in today's Red, White, & Blue Blog Hop. If you get lost, just come back here to check the list and find your way again.

Thank you for hopping with us today... we hope you had fun! I know we did!

Weight Watchers Wednesday

Hi, everyone! Did you all have a fabulous long weekend last weekend? We enjoyed ourselves swimming, kayaking, grilling, smoking some pork, and just hanging out with family and friends.

I kept a headache all weekend. (Not a migraine like I get sometimes. Just a headache.) My husband, Tom, and I were talking about that yesterday trying to figure out what was different that made me keep that headache every day over the Memorial Day weekend. At first I thought it was maybe too much sun on Saturday & Sunday, but I wasn't in direct sunlight that much and when I was I had on sunscreen, sunglasses, and a baseball hat to help keep it off my face. Tom asked if I had eaten my meals regularly. I had not. Plus I didn't eat nearly the fruit I normally eat during the day. I was pre-occupied with talking to family and friends, playing in the lake, sitting on the dock laughing at stories being told, etc. I really threw my routine out of the window without even noticing how I was neglecting my noutrition. I need to get back on track today. That watermelon that has sat on the kitchen counter all weekend needs to get cut up and enjoyed.

I was pleasantly surprised with my weigh-in on Monday. The kyaking and swimming over the weekend I'm sure helped boost my weight loss.  I lost another -2.0 pounds! Yay! That puts be past 25 pounds lost with a total of -26.6 pounds forever gone. It feels amazing. I don't really see a big difference in my body unless I'm looking at photos from last year, but seems like everyone else notices and says something about it to me. I was also shocked when I put on my bathing suit this weekend, it hung on me. I had to dig a little deeper to find an older bathing suit to wear. I'm  wearing some older jeans that are a smaller size, and bought some shirts recently at Walmart that are a smaller size. Truly it makes me feel so good with the scale and non-scale little victories. I still have a long way to go, but how encouraging it is to me that I'm well on my way, and I know I can do this. I am doing this. You can do it too. Don't let little setbacks make you quit. Just keep using the Weight Watchers plan and the weight will come off.

I've chatted more than I normally do on these posts, so I'll hush now.

If you'd like to join me in Weight Watchers, please use this link.

See you next Wednesday for another WW update.

Scrapbook Project Life Page from Week 20

Hi, everyone! Today starts a brand new Scrapbooking challenge over at Bimini Moose. It's always anything goes and the optional twist this time is "This Day in History."

I thought I'd share a couple of my scrapbook pages from Week 20 with you. There are a couple of things that happened this week that will go down in History..... at least in our family. LOL

First of all, our son who has been in the Army since he was 18, is now officially a civilian for the first time in his adult life - and after serving our country for 9 years with 2 war deployments.  That's pretty significant, and a Day In History for our family.

Second, we have only been in our new lake house for a few weeks, and for the first time in what seems like forever, we actually had all of our children in our home AT THE SAME TIME. LOL We all put on our bathing suits and went swimming!

Wait, let me correct that. Bonnie was the only one who didn't get in the lake this time, but she still joined us on the dock in her bathing suit.  We need to replace the ladder at the end of our dock (see nasty underwater picture of that slimy mess above). Bonnie is going to need something easier to use. She has a hard time just walking over bumps, sticks, curbs, etc. She doesn't need to deal with a nasty ladder like that. We are going to make getting in and out of the lake "Bonnie Friendly" so she can enjoy swimming with us (with a life jacket) with no worries and no stressful situations.

See Jimmy doing a handstand on Kati's paddle board. You go, boy!

Fun, fun, fun swimming with the kids.

See you tomorrow. Don't forget to link up your pages over at Bimini Moose!

Scrapbook Pages from Week 20

Hi, everyone! I have a couple of scrapbook pages to show you from Week 20. I used some Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) filler cards that Kati gave me for Mother's Day. I love, love, love these cards. I like the colors and the overall look & feel of them. (I gotta get me some more!)

For this first page, I let the photos do most of the talking. I did print out a status that Tom posted to Facebook one day that week. (I had to highlight the part about me in red because I love to hear / read / see how much he loves me.)

I was very excited to get a large American Flag to proudly wave on our dock, and we've been wanting some lights for the dock too, so Tom hung those up. It's so pretty at night.

Yes, our doggies were frog hunting in that one picture. There are so many new creatures here at the lake house that they didn't get to play with where we lived before. It's rather hard to get them to come inside sometimes. They have too much to explore and get into. LOL

That's it! Thanks for stopping by. I'll see you next time!

Weight Watchers Wednesday

It's that time of the week where we talk WEIGHT WATCHERS.

How 'bout that Before and Current photo? Interesting, huh? I've been on Weight Watchers for 16 weeks now. As of last week I had lost 23 pounds.  As of this week, make that -24.6 pounds. What has made me successful? (I do believe I am a success story in the making.) It's no big secret.

From the beginning I've asked God to help me. I have allowed myself to enjoy my favorite foods, but have limited the portion size, not made snacking on chocolate the norm, and have counted everything staying within my daily and weekly points. The week's I don't use a lot of the extra weekly points are the weeks I lose the most weight. The weeks I gain exercise points, but don't cash them in on extra food, are the weeks I lose the most weight. The more active I am during the week, the more I smile on my weigh-in day.

I am NOT an exercise enthusiast. So by active I just mean more moving around like running errands, parking further away, doing housework, walking up and down the stairs more in the house.... just normal stuff - but more of it. I also stand to eat most of the time. That's not a big deal, but standing does take more effort than sitting, and it all adds up.

Want to join me in Weight Watchers? Just click this link (Weight Watchers), and find out more.

See you next week!

Scrapbook Pages from Week 19

I had a LOT of photos and scrapbook pages for Week 19, but I'm just going to show you two of them today.

  • Cricut Design Space using Indie Days Font for "Week 19" cut
  • Filler cards and background papers all from my Mother's Day bag of Project Life goodies from Kati
  • First two photos on the top row are from that Friday night. We stayed out until 4am on the dock. Wayne and Gene were smoking the pork for the graduation party the next day. There were 10 of us all hanging out laughing and telling stories and some of the men were also getting some fishing in. It was a GREAT night! I can't believe we all stayed up that long. Wayne & Gene didn't go to bed until after 8am. And I'm not sure Wayne actually ever went to bed. I think he tried to cat nap a little, but nothing more than that.
  • Bonnie on the second row is giving the thumbs up at the doctor's office.
  • Bottom row shows the babies enjoying Bonnie's bed. So spoiled. LOL  And the flowers are from Wayne's parents to us girls (Kati, Bonnie, & I). Keri also gave me some flowers too. (It was Mother's Day weekend as well as graduation weekend.)

I have 3 pages of graduation photos. Here's one of them. So proud of Kati. The outfit laid out is what I wore that day. I had some fun shopping for new clothes. It was very nice to be able to buy a smaller size. (Yay Weight Watchers!)  Love Kati's thumbs up photo!

Thanks for stopping by today! See you tomorrow.

I Miss You Card & Winner!

Before I show you my card for today, the WINNER of the Cricut Scoring Tool is....

Marilyn of Who 'Dat Scrapper

Congratulations! Please email me (66cricketatgmaildotcom) or Private Message me on Facebook with your USA mailing address by the end of the week. Enjoy!

Do you enjoy Clean & Simple cards? Because that's what I have to show you today.

  • Make-It-Now Cricut Design Space card
  • All papers from scrap box
I wish Cricut Design Space would always list where the cuts and fonts are from. I love this font. It says I've purchased it, but I have no idea what cart it's on. I was going to change the message to something else, but couldn't figure out how to edit their text, so I thought I'd just add text, but couldn't figure out what font this was. Okay, that was a long sentence. LOL

Enjoy your day!

A Sweet Hello Shaped Card

Hi, all my crafty, bloggy friends! Today is my day to post over at the Cardz TV Gallery blog. There are new projects by different Design Team members every Monday through Friday. Check it out and get inspired.

Oh my gosh! GUESS WHAT??!!  Mary has several NEW STAMPS just added to the store THIS WEEK!  Be sure to stop by the Cardz TV Stamp store and check them out. I love them. They are going to be really popular. Can't wait to get mine in the mail!  See below for a sneak peek at what's new in the store this week.

  • Silhouette Design #78550 (shaped card)
  • Twine - black, yellow
  • Buttons - black, yellow
  • Pattern paper - Carta Bella
  • Cardz TV Stamps - Ticket Talk 2
I curled up the petals of the flowers a little to give it some dimension. Two flower centers have yellow buttons, and one has a black button. That's me. I like asymmetry. Here's a look-see at the inside:

For the inside I cut out the pitcher base again in solid yellow and then created an internal offset using the Silhouette software which I cut out in white. The cardstock and ink color is SU's Crushed Curry.

Now... for a sneak at the BRAND NEW STAMPS in the store this week.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
