I'm loving the PRINT AND CUT feature on my CAMEO!! Woo-Hoo!
I chose several images to have the Cameo print.
First I put them on 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock on the Cameo screen with the Registration Marks.
Then I sent them to the printer to print.
I took that piece of cardstock out of the printer and adhered it to my Cameo mat.

The Cameo identifies the registration marks so that it will know where to cut the images.

After having the images print and cut out, I decided to make a shadow layer for them, cut those out, and below you can see the images adhered to their shadows.

Another very cool feature about the Cameo is that you can tell is how bulky or tight you want the shadow. And of course you can print the shadow in any color you feed through your Cameo. I considered blue, but since I didn't have my card papers chosen yet, I stuck with white for now.

Below is the finished card using a PUN for this challenge.

  • A2 size card 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • Pattern papers from Walmart "Colorbook" last year's spring colors
  • Cuttlebug dots for embossing the green layer

Happy Easter! Our Easter Bunny always brings new cereal bowls or plastic cups instead of Easter Baskets. :) Look at that SUGAR!

Yesterday I was playing with my Cameo (I know, shocker, right? LOL) I'm enjoying learning all about it. I upgraded it to the Designer's Edition Software so that I could play around with all of the CUTE SVGs out there! I've started an SVG Page tab to help me remember where they all are. Feel free to click on that at the top of my blog and check them out. As people give me new links to more SVG sites, I'll be adding them in. I do believe though that Miss Kate Cuttables is my FAV site so far. This bug card was made with one of her DAILY FREEBIES!!

  • Miss Kate Cuttables: Cute Bug - cut @ about 2 1/2"
  • Cute Bug adhered with an Action Wobble
  • Papers from Ki "Fancy Free" 180 stack I got last year
  • Martha Stewart "Double Loop" border punch
  • Photo Corners from the Silhouette online store

HOP-py Easter!

I have had a ton of fun today. My husband, Tom, our brother, Jimmy, and Tom's brother, Tim, all worked outside today on our outdoor fireplace entertainment area. It's coming along nicely! Bonnie and I sat outside for a while just enjoying the sunshine.

It's a work in progress. There will be a light on the top of that column and flag stone added to the tops of everything. Two more brick columns and seating areas will be added in an L shape. But we are hoping to have it functional by next weekend for Bonnie's birthday party! We are wanting to make s'mores on the outdoor fireplace!

In between running back and forth to the store for different groceries and drinks, I played with my Silhouette Cameo. First I updated my software to the Designer's Edition so that I could have access to even more tools and be able to use SVG cuts. Then I went searching in the Silhouette online store for Easter Basket 3D cuts. I found several I liked, but decided on this one....

I cut out 19 of these little darlings and stamped faces on them using Peachy Keen PK-754 Critter Faces Set A Medium.

I used a white gel pen to color in part of the eyes, nose, and teeth. Added some twine around it's neck, and then added some Easter Grass, Easter Egg, and candy.

I inked around the edges of this one with Close To My Heart "Sunset" ink. At first I used mono adhesive, but they were staying stuck together, so I went back and used Score Tape instead - much mo' betta'.

I love my little Bunny Baskets! Thanks for stopping by today! :) Janis

Hope

Good morning! I'm so excited that SPRING is here... even though at the moment it's 45 degrees here and I wish it was more like 75 - 80 outside. So if the outside weather won't act like Spring, then I decided to make some flower cards inside to make me feel like Spring anyway.

  • Card base is cardstock from Stampin' Up cut @ 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" (this would make a great tag!)
  • Ivory cardstock cut @ 3" x 4"
  • Stampin' Up stamps from the "Summer Silhouettes" clear mount stamp set
  • Stampin Up inks used are:
    • Glorious Green (retired)
    • Eggplant Envy (retired)
    • Brilliant Blue (retired)
  • Close To My Heart inks used are:
    • Sunset (Adventure Collection)
    • Cranberry (Adventure Collection)
  • Cardz TV Stamp set "More Encouraging Thoughts" stamped using SU "Brilliant Blue"
  • The embossed flower attached with a Recollections brad has been stashed away since last year. So glad I got these back out again. I love the embossed flowers!

Project Highlighted

I'm so excited to say that my
Stampin' Up Swallowtail project
is featured today over at
my sweet friend, Raven's, blog.
:) Janis

Your Thoughtfulness Warms My Heart

I am loving my new Cameo! I have learned (through the help of many YouTube videos) how to create shadows for stamped images, how to weld images or letters to a shape, how to create a custom sized sentiment mat that fits the individual stamped sentiment perfectly... oh the magic. :)

  • Little girl from Cameo "Print and Cut" feature. Remember her? She printed in the black outline only. I cut her out with the Cameo. Then I colored her with BICs, Le Plumes, and the skin tone Copic marker. Her cheeks were chalked in. The dots on her flower and skirt were created with a white gel pen.
  • CARDZ TV STAMPS "Heartfelt Wishes" for the sentiment stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
  • The sentiment matting "label" came from the free cuts included with the Silhouette purchase. I stamped the sentiment and scanned it in to the computer and loaded it into the Silhouette software. Then I grabbed that free label and custom fit it around the stamped image including a shadow. Send to Silhouette. Cut. Voila! Once I had the label and shadow cut out, I simply stamped my sentiment on it. Perfect fit!

Swallowtail Fun

CRAFTY CARDS CHALLENGE... HERE

Who else is so ready for SPRING? Okay, it's officially Spring, but I'm ready for it to start FEELING like Spring!

Yesterday I received my Stampin' Up order! Woo-Hoo! I love me some Stampin Up!

First I stamped the Swallowtail twice onto white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Then I colored one of the images using BIC markers.

I punched out butterflies randomly from the colored image. I used the Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punch, but Stampin' Up also has butterfly punches. In fact, right now they have 2 different sizes I think.

Ready to see the final card?

  • Card measures 6" x 5"
  • Background is chalked in blue
  • Stampin' Up "Swallowtail" #129216
  • Martha Stewart "Classic Butterfly Punch"
  • Modern Label Punch #119849
  • Sentiment punch is inked around the edges using SU "Bliss Blue" (retired)
  • Sentiment from SU "Little Friends" #122667
  • Card base is SU cardstock "Night of Navy" #100867
  • Twine, Pearl Brad, and Rhinestones on butterfly bodies all from stash
